Gorilla Families in Uganda
Bwindi Impenetrable National park has 11 habituated mountain gorilla groups ready to be tracked and one that is available for research.
A maximum of eight people are allowed to track each group per day. These groups include per tracking area;
Buhoma- Mubare, Habinyanja and Rushegura.
Ruhija- Bitukura, Oruzogo and the research group Kyaguriro.
Nkuringo – Nkuringo Gorilla group.
Rushaga – Nshongi, Mishaya, Kahungye, Bweza, and Busingye.
The Mountain Gorilla Trekking is one of the life time events and activities that you can only have in the Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Virunga Massif shared by Uganda Rwanda and Democratic Republic of Congo.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has got four (4) regions where gorilla trekking is conducted. The regions include; Buhoma in the north, Nkuringo in the South West, Rushaga in the South and Ruhija in the East.
The distribution of gorilla trekking per region enables the gorilla trekkers to reach various gorilla families in these different areas with ease than when it was to begin from one point and involve driving through the forest to connect to these parts of the forest.
