10 Days Uganda Safari Tour: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On your arrival at the Airport, your safari guide will welcome you and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as he tells you about your safari.
This is 11 hours and it has about 559km. You will have lunch en route, dinner and overnight at the same lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
You will have briefing at the park headquarters after breakfast about the gorilla tracking activity. You will head to the forests to look out for the gorillas with the help of the game rangers, who will pave your way and scare away the wild animals.
You will have to carry packed lunch and water. In the afternoon, you can have the batwa cultural experience for a short time, where you will see their traditional dances, hear their stories, and learn about local food, medicine and all about them. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Boat Cruise
You will have breakfast and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This is 150km and it takes 5hours. You will have lunch at the lodge, then, in the afternoon, enjoy the Boat cruise at Kazinga channel.
Here you may see crocodiles, hippos, birds, and some animals like buffaloes, giraffes, and elephants that may be taking a sip of water. You will have your dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Game Drive, Chimp Tracking
Early in the morning, you will get to the forest for a game drive, where you will catch up with the morning risers like buffaloes, chimpanzees, zebras, giraffes, baboons, elephants, lions, and much more.
You will have late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, you will go to the park headquarters for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking.
You will then head to Kyambura Gorge, where you will enjoy the presence of the shy primates as you see how they eat, play, and have some photo shoots. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the same lodge.
Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
You will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. You will pass via the Ishasha sector to track the tree-climbing lions.
The journey takes around 157 km, and it is a 4-hour drive. You will have your lunch en route as you also view different wildlife attractions. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 6: Chimp Tracking, Nature Walks
You will have breakfast and then get briefing about the chimpanzee tracking from the park headquarters. You will then head to the forest to look out for the chimpanzees.
You will see how they play, feed, and have their photo shoots. You will come back to the lodge and, in the afternoon, enjoy the nature walks in Bigodi Swamp, where you will see different birds and primates. You will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.
Day 7: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi National Park, Boat Cruise
You will have breakfast and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi National Park. It is 8 hours and it is 384km. You will have lunch at the lodge, and then you can have a boat cruise at the lake, where you will see different birds and animals, depending on your luck. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 8: Birding, Transfer to Lake Mburo, Boat Cruise
You will have breakfast and then visit the island, where you will see different birds like the Western Green Tinker bird, the Short-tailed Warbler, and others.
You will have lunch and then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, which is around 160km and takes about 3 hours.
You can enjoy the evening boat cruise at the lake, where you will see different birds and primates. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.
Day 9: Game Drive, Transfer to Kampala
Early in the morning, you will go for a game drive in the park to look out for the morning risers as they get out of their homes, like the buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, leopards, antelopes, lions, baboons, and so many others.
You will get back to the lodge for your late breakfast and lunch. In the afternoon, you will transfer to Kampala for your dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Ngamba Island; Back to Entebbe
You will have breakfast and then transfer to chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island to enjoy the presence of the orphaned chimpanzees.
You can participate in the activities carried out on the island, therefore being the care giver of the day. You will have your lunch there and depending on your departure time, your guide will drive you to Entebbe Airport to have your flight back.
