8-Day Uganda Safari Tour: Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls

On your arrival, your safari guide will pick you and transfer you to Murchison Falls National Park. This takes 5 hours and it is 311km.

You will have lunch and in the afternoon, you will hike the falls, where you will see how water flows to the Nile River. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Early in the morning, you will head to the Northern part of the park for a morning game drive, where you will see the morning risers get out of their homes.

You can see buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, leopards, Antelopes, baboons and so many others. You will return to the lodge for breakfast and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise where you can see hippos, crocodiles, birds and animals like buffaloes, zebras and others. You will have dinner and stay overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

You will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. You will pass via the Ishasha sector to track the tree-climbing lions.

The journey takes around 441km and it is a 9-hour drive. You will have your lunch en route as you also view different wildlife attractions. You will have dinner and stay overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimp Tracking, Nature Walks

You will have breakfast and then get a briefing about the chimpanzee tracking from the park headquarters.

You will then head to the forest to look out for the chimpanzees. You will see how they play, feed, and have their photo shoots.

You will come back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, enjoy the Bogodi Community Tour OR a Nature walk in Bigodi Swamp, where you will see different birds and primates.

After driving to Queen Elizabeth Park for dinner and overnight at your lodge,.

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Boat cruise

You will have an early morning game drive where you will catch up with the morning risers like buffaloes, chimpanzees, zebras, giraffes, baboons, elephants, lions, and much more.

Go for lunch at the lodge, then in the afternoon you can enjoy the Boat cruise at Kazinga channel. Here you may see crocodiles, hippos, birds, and some animals like buffaloes, giraffes, and elephants that may be taking a sip of water.

You will have dinner and stay overnight at your lodge.

Day 6: Ishasha Game Drive & Transfer To Bwindi

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will drive to Bwindi via the Ishasha sector to see the famous tree-climbing Lions alongside buffaloes, chimpanzees, zebras, giraffes, baboons, elephants, etc. After, Drive to Bwindi National Park, having your lunch en route.

You will have your dinner and stay overnight at your Bwindi Lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You will have a briefing at the park headquarters after breakfast about the gorilla tracking activity. You will head to the forests to look out for the gorillas with the help of the game rangers, who will pave your way and scare away the wild animals. You will have to carry packed lunch and water.

In the afternoon, you will have a cultural encounter with the Batwa Pygym community and see their traditional dances and hear their life experiences or you can rest as you wait for gorilla tracking.

You will have your dinner and stay overnight at the lodge of your choice.

Day 8: Transfer to Kampala

After breakfast, you will transfer to Kampala or Entebbe to have your flight back, with a stop at the Equator Line for a photo moment.
