5 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari & Chimpanzee Tracking Tour – Detailed Overview

Day 1: Arrival, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

On your arrival at the Airport, your safari guide will welcome you and transfer you to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as he tells you about your safari.

This is 11 hours and it has about 559km. You will have lunch en route then dinner and overnight at the same lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Uganda

You will have briefing at the park headquarters after breakfast about the gorilla tracking activity. You will head to the forests to look out for the gorillas with the help of the game rangers who will pave you way and scare away the wild animals.

You will have to carry packed lunch and water. In the afternoon you can have the batwa cultural experience for a short time where you will see their traditional dances, hear their stories, local food, medicine and all about them. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

You will have breakfast and then transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. You will pass via the Ishasha sector to track the tree climbing lions.

The journey takes around 441km and it is a 9 hour drive. You will have your lunch en route as you also view different wildlife attractions. You will have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Chimp Tracking, Nature Walks

You will have breakfast and then get briefing about the chimpanzee tracking from the park headquarters. You will then head to the forest to look out for the chimps.

You will see how they play, feed, and have their photo shoots. You will come back to the lodge for and in the afternoon enjoy the nature walks in Bigodi swamp where you will see different birds and primates. You will have dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Kampala

You will have breakfast and then transfer to Kampala which takes about 8 hours and it is 358km. you will have lunch en route.
